The project aimed at developing concepts for possible new business models in the grid business for a leading cooperation of Distribution Grid Operators.
In the first step, a long-list of possible business models in the grid business was developed. For this purpose, classic and new tasks in the network business were analyzed and potentials for increasing efficiency through modern technological developments and through economies of scale within a cooperation were examined.
In a second step, the success factors and obstacles of the business models for a preliminary evaluation are compiled.
The client selected the most promising business models. These models were specified in the third step and the necessary steps for a successful implementation were drawn up.
