A transmission system operator had committed itself to sustainable network expansion. At the time, however, political framework conditions were established that posed considerable challenges for the customer. Socio-political and economic consequences were to be expected as a result of changed framework conditions. Therefore, E-Bridge was asked to examine which consequences could be expected due to political framework conditions.
At the beginning of the project, scenarios were defined to allow quantitative analysis of the hypotheses. Among others, the energy framework parameters, the grid expansion scenarios and the regulatory framework parameters were defined. Evaluation criteria were defined for the assessment of the results from the quantitative analysis.
In a second step, the quantitative analyses were carried out and the scenarios and the qualitative classification of the results were evaluated. Based on this, possible recommendations for the positioning of the transmission system operator were ultimately derived and options for the communication strategy were defined together with the customer.
