Project management “Congestion management and redispatch in the distribution grid 2.0″a

The amendment to the Network Expansion Acceleration Act (NABEG 2.0) replaces feed-in management (sections 14 and 15 EEG) with the extension of the redispatch regime to installations in the distribution network (redispatch 2.0). As a result, congestion management measures will fall under Section 13 (1) EnWG from October 1, 2021. From this date, all market players involved must implement the necessary processes in their operations.

The new regulations entail new tasks in particular for the network operators – i.e., also the E.ON network operators Avacon, Bayernwerk, E.DIS, LEW Verteilnetz, Mitnetz Strom, Syna, Schleswig-Holstein Netz, VSE Verteilnetz and Westnetz – but also for generators, direct marketers and aggregators, which require preparation.

These are, in particular, the intensive cooperation of the network operators in forecasting and eliminating network bottlenecks by means of anticipatory redispatch measures at the lowest possible overall costs across all network levels and while maintaining appropriate network and supply security. Furthermore, it requires the generation and provision of the data necessary for redispatch and the assumption of responsibility for the balancing and financial compensation as well as the handling of the settlement processes by the network operator.

E-Bridge supports E.ON with multi-project management and ensures the timely achievement of all project objectives. In addition to purely organizational support, E-Bridge also offers flexible and professional support in the development of content-related issues.

With the support of E-Bridge, the implementation of the legal requirements from NABeG and an increase in efficiency through process harmonization can be carried out. The capability of forecast-based network condition analysis and redispatch dimensioning is developed and the automation of network management processes is increased. Furthermore, a technical basis for the use of voluntary flexibility potentials was created.
