The energy transition is increasingly changing the energy landscape in urban areas and the demands on the energy infrastructure are changing rapidly. At the same time, there is a need for action in the network due to the age structure, a large number of new digital solution options, and increased demands on communication. A municipal network operator is confronted with a “jungle of topics”.
Together with E-Bridge, Netze Duisburg GmbH analyzed, structured and prioritized this variety of topics in order to develop a “target map for networks of the future”. Topics with a high need for action were identified along the company’s values, and a clear objective was defined for each. Taking existing projects into account, it was possible to identify concrete next steps that will help Netze Duisburg to position itself for the future.
“E-Bridge’s support helped us to gain an overview in the jungle of topics and thus to determine a roadmap for the coming years on the way to the “networks of the future””, says Sabrina Klein, Head of Strategic Planning at Netze Duisburg.
